Dave Windham was raised in both East Los Angeles and Pasadena, California. His early design influence came from his father who graduated with an Industrial Design degree from Long Beach State University, studying with the likes of Joe Johnston and Steve Gawley of Star Wars fame. Dave still has the sketch book signed by both artists and Ralph McQuarrie under lock and key.
Those hours spent watching over his father’s shoulder, and stealing markers to draw space soldiers and robotic aircraft influenced Dave to attend Art Center at Night and eventually San Jose State University to obtain his BS in Industrial Design. Dave went into the Actions Sports Industry working with Bell Sports out of college designing for the bike Industry, eventually broadening his horizons designing for clients including Trek bicycles, Giro Sport Design, Smith Sport Optics, Burton Snowboards, ESS Military Eyewear, as well as several Independent designers.
In 2006 Dave opened FiveB Product Design located in Sun Valley Idaho, working with various clients designing within the Sports, Fashion and Consumer industries while at the same time improving all aspects of his skiing and mountain bike riding. Dave has also served as a Squad Leader, Advanced EMT, and member of the High Angle Rescue team with the Ketchum Fire department since 2004. He is a basic State Fire Instructor and CPR Instructor, doing it to “give back more than you take”.
Dave recently relocated FiveB back to Los Angeles, California under the watchful eye of his 7 year old Labrador retriever, Cash.
